Monday Love Story AI Workflow

A thumbnail for the a very monday love story

For the animated short A Very Monday Love Story, I developed and executed a surreal storytelling concept based on an annual Facebook tradition: each year, my friend writes an increasingly bizarre tale about how he met his wife. This project brought one of those fictional origin stories to life, transforming it into a stylized animated short that blends absurdity, tenderness, and technical experimentation.

Scope of Work:

  • Concept Development & Scriptwriting: Adapted the original Facebook post into a narrative script using ChatGPT for scene building, tone control, and voiceover scripting while preserving the core humor and emotional thread.

  • Visual Style & AI Animation: Directed visual development in a 1960s claymation-inspired style using Runway Gen-4 for character generation, stylistic motion prompts, and visual continuity across scenes.

  • Editing & Sound Design: Assembled and structured the film in Adobe Premiere Pro with scene transitions, compositing, and refinements handled in After Effects. Voiceover, sound design, and audio mastering were completed in Adobe Audition.

The story follows David as he discovers a feral woman living in the engine bay of his car—a bizarre but sincere love story that unfolds through woodland trials, chalk rituals, and a dramatic paper towel dispenser duel. The project served as a technical exploration of how AI-assisted workflows can support stylized visual storytelling, character consistency, and narrative pacing in independent animation.
